About Troop 117

Troop 117 is Palm Bay’s Scouts BSA troop for girls. Through camping, outdoor activities, advancement, community service, and youth leadership, Scouts have opportunities to challenge themselves and develop skills they can use throughout their lives.
Scouting is hands-on. Scouts learn by doing, working together, taking on new responsibilities, and gradually becoming the leaders of their troop.
A Scout-Led Experience
Learning to Lead
One of the things that makes Scouts BSA different is that Scouts are given real opportunities to lead.
As Scouts gain experience, they take on greater responsibility within the troop. They learn how to plan, communicate, solve problems, work with others, and help newer Scouts develop their own skills.
Adult leaders provide guidance and support, but the goal is to help Scouts become increasingly confident and capable leaders themselves.

Outdoor Adventure
Camping, hiking, cooking, navigation, outdoor skills, and opportunities to explore new places.
Skills & Advancement
Scouts work toward ranks, learn practical skills, earn merit badges, and set goals for their own advancement.
Leadership
Leadership positions give Scouts opportunities to organize, communicate, teach, and work as a team.
