What to Expect
Your first visit is informal. You'll have an opportunity to meet members of the troop, see what we're working on, and learn about upcoming activities.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay, meet our adult leaders, and ask questions.
Who Can Join?
Troop 117 is a Scouts BSA troop for girls in Palm Bay.
Scouting America allows youth to join Scouts BSA if they meet its age and grade eligibility requirements. Generally, Scouts BSA serves youth ages 11 through 17, although eligible 10-year-olds may also join under certain fifth-grade or Arrow of Light conditions.

What Does a Scout Need?
You don't need to purchase everything before visiting.
Come meet the troop first. We'll explain registration, uniforms, handbooks, camping equipment, troop expectations, and anything else you need to know before getting started.
What Will My Scout Do?
Scouts have opportunities to:
- Go camping and spend time outdoors
- Learn outdoor and practical skills
- Earn ranks and merit badges
- Take on leadership positions
- Participate in community service
- Attend troop activities and trips
- Make friends and work as part of a team
- Challenge themselves and try new things
